In the series “Planets”, the rings of Saturn
“I painted this series between 1991 and 1994: it is not only a celestial representation, but an attempt to paint my inner experience of the cosmos.
It echoes ancient spiritual traditions (alchemy, mythology, astrology). Each planet is linked to an energy, a metal, a state of consciousness.
Spiritually, it is a search for a personal cosmogony. It’s a way to connect creation to the order of the cosmos, to give a place to each energy. As a matter of fact each planet is a symbol of a state of soul or a vital force.
The Rings of Saturn
The rings of Saturn is an abstract meditation on movement, time, and continuity. Layer upon layer of curved brushstrokes flow across the surface, echoing planetary orbits and natural rhythms. Warm tones of yellow, ochre, blush, and deep brown create a sense of depth and calm, while subtle contrasts invite the eye to keep traveling—round and round, without urgency.
This painting is inspired by the quiet grandeur of Saturn’s rings: vast, orderly, and endlessly in motion. It balances softness with structure, making it a contemplative piece that brings warmth and harmony into a space. Ideal for collectors drawn to abstract works that feel both cosmic and grounded.
